The Department of Economics invites you to the 3rd Annual Tracy Mott Workshop. In collaboration with the Department of Geography & 环境, workshop will feature research by Paul Sutton (DU professor of geography), Juan Carlos Lopez (CAHSS professor of economics), 和 guest speakers John Carruthers 和 Peter Tsigaris. DU faculty 和 invited presenter CAHSS alum Ellie Lochhead will also participate in a panel on housing 和 homelessness.

John Carruthers's current work focuses on evaluating environmental remediation projects in the Puget Sound region of Washington State, 和 the value of public education 和 other amenities in the Seoul Metropolitan Area. Before joining Cornell University, Carruthers worked at George Washington University (GW), where he was the founding director of the Sustainable Urban Planning Program, which he led to PAB accreditation. His research has been published in leading journals, including 环境及规划B, International Regional 科学 Review, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Regional 科学，以及其他.

Peter Tsigaris's research interests span the areas of environmental economics, 税收政策和问题, 面临风险的决策, 以及教育经济学. He has presented his work at conferences around the world, has published over twenty five manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, 和 has been recognized with multiple awards for his innovative teaching, such as using experimental games to stimulate students’ interest in economics 和 sustainability concepts. Tsigaris also led the development of a new master in 环境al Economics 和 Management program at Thompson Rivers University.
